Why I Love Entering Sweepstakes & Giveaways

I love entering and winning sweepstakes and giveaways and have been doing so for over 5 years.  I started by finding, printing and clipping coupons to save 40% to 60% off my family’s groceries. Eventually, I stumbled onto a blog giveaway and followed the directions to enter.  A few weeks later, I received my first winning email letting me know that I won a package of dove facial wipes!  The prize arrived a week later and it made me so happy because I couldn’t believe I actually won something.  After that, I was hooked and began searching for and entering more blog giveaways.

Over the years I have continued to enter blog giveaways but have also expanded into entering many different types of giveaways and sweepstakes.  I enter thru Facebook, Twitter, websites, Instagram and Pinterest. I enter single entry, daily entry, weekly entry, monthly entry and sweepstakes where you get extra entries for friends who enter through your unique link. I have won many wonderful prizes over the years.  My best prize ever was a trip to New York City which included a $500 shopping spree at the Nine West store!  I had never been to New York or let along anywhere in the East Coast so I had a wonderful time. In fact, I would just love to win another trip to New York City in the near future.  I have also won checks of different amounts, gift cards, high end beauty products, large and small appliances, tablets, smart phones, a computer, a TV and a mattress to name a few things.

One of the best benefits of sweepstaking is winning! That is why I put my time and effort into it because I want the reward of winning wonderful prizes. I love being a winner and receiving great and useful prizes especially ones that I couldn’t afford to buy.  I also love being able to learn about and try out new products.  There are so many products in the world today and this hobby has helped me to understand and know more about different products, what works and what doesn’t work and what products I want and would purchase for myself and my family as opposed to the things that I don’t particularly need or care to purchase.  I have definitely become a much pickier consumer.  It’s not necessarily that I like things that are more expensive because I can’t afford to like expensive, luxury items.  We are on a tight budget and have been hit hard with the tough economic times and job losses and rising costs of everything.  What I do like are affordable products that are quality and enhance and make my life easier and I feel that they are worth their price in terms of the benefit I get out of them to me and my family.

The most important benefit of this wonderful hobby has been that it’s opened up an online network where I socialize with sweepers, bloggers, companies and so forth. As a stay at home mom with a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia and 2 kids at home including 1 son born with a rare developmental disability known as “Pachygyria,” I don’t have much of a social life.  I’m not complaining, just being real that my life revolves around managing my Fibro, trying to avoid flare ups and using what physical abilities and energies I have on taking care of my family.  I don’t get out and about as much as most other people do, but that’s okay.  I love my family and I love taking care of my child with special needs.  But thank goodness for sweepstaking because I have met many sweeper friends that are wonderful people that I love socializing with online through Facebook, Twitter and now Instagram. I love sharing sweepstakes with others, helping others out with a vote or entering through their link and getting to know them better.  There are many people with beautiful hearts in this world and I’m so blessed to have gotten to know some of those people through sweepstaking.  The benefit of the friends I have made and the new friends I will make in the near future is worth so much to me that I can’t put a price on it. Whether they know it or not, these friends are all priceless to me and worth more than any prize I’ve won or will win.
